What exactly is performance-based health?

Gravity Janes teaches health. If that seems obvious, then this will not surprise you: those just looking for a place to workout will not like it here.

While intelligent and functional exercise is a requirement for health, working out and becoming healthy are 2 different things. Health also requires knowledge and dedication. If you are not willing to learn and are not totally committed to the task of becoming healthier, you are just working out. We have a much higher standard for the human body.

Gravity Janes will always provide the necessary environment and knowledge for dedicated people to become the healthiest people they can be. This fitness is about your actual and measureable physical performance, and the quality of your life. Maximum levels of both is all we care about at Gravity Janes.

There is no minimum level of health and fitness necessary to be a part of the Gravity Janes team. Everyone is welcome. We have passionate clients from 16 to 65 of both sexes. The only requirement is a willingness to learn, a commitment of time, and a dedication to the work. Results are predictable and duplicative. The process is hard, and there is no substitute. However, within a period of 12 to 24 weeks you will be amazed at the ease with which you will perform just about every physical activity compared with your experience today. It is completely safe and far more stimulating than typical fitness programs.

While we already know the profound effect this level of fitness has on human performance and the quality of one's life, we are only now beginning to realize how many years out we can extend that quality of life. That's a discovery we'd love to make with you.

Questions For Jane

"You want me to do what?!?"

Q: Issaquah already has plenty of health clubs. Why do we need another one?

A: Issaquah doesn't need another health club. Gravity Janes is not a health club, it is a performance-based training facility. Janes train for a higher level and broader base of fitness than is commonly expected from exercise. We call it Foundational Fitness. The work of Foundational Fitness will serve any athletic goal and a profoundly elevated quality of life.

Q: Why doesn't GJ have any cardio or strength machines?

A: The essence of Foundational Fitness is a return to historic functional activities. In other words, our exercise is based on physical challenges found in nature. This concept teaches that the tools of fitness must be the primary tools of a non-mechanized world. Therefore we use no motorized or isolating machines. The results produced by this work are athletically superior and realized sooner.

Q: It sounds hard. How do I know if I'm up to the exercise.

A: Because the work of Gravity Janes is purely functional, it is ultimately scalable to any age, physical condition, or life experience. We have dedicated and passionate clients under 16 and over 65, and all aspects of health and injury prevention are promoted along with the exercise.

Q: Who needs Gravity Janes?

A: Foundational Fitness is so-named because of its universal application to humans. Anyone who seeks authentic fitness over cosmetic outcomes from their exercise should train at Gravity Janes. Whatever other exercise you choose to engage in should be done in addition to Foundational Fitness.
